Alumni Programming
Ridgeview Institute offers two programming options for Ridgeview Alumni: The Alumni Association and Continuing Care Support Groups. Ridgeview Alumni are those individuals who have successfully completed treatment at Ridgeview, whether that be for mental health disorders or substance use disorders.
Alumni Association
Ridgeview has active an Alumni Association for various populations campus wide. Our largest and oldest Ridgeview Alumni Association serves adults who have been treated at Ridgeview. Initially founded to support adults in recovery who have been treated in our addiction program, over the years our Alumni Association has expanded to include dually diagnosed alumni and those with psychiatric disorders.
The Alumni Association is comprised of those alumni who are committed to supporting current patients, other Ridgeview Alumni, and the community at large. Alumni are available to talk with patients and families new to recovery, encourage involvement in 12-step programs, and provide support as patients leave treatment and transition back to their daily lives. Many former patients have told us that talking to someone who had experienced success in recovery offered tremendous hope, support and guidance in their early recovery.
The Alumni Association is active in the recovering community year round and regularly sponsors speaker meetings, family events, parties, retreats and on-going support for alumni.
Continuing Care Support Groups
Another option for alumni programming are the Continuing Care Support Groups. Recovery is a continuous process and patients need ongoing support after completing treatment. Our continuing care support groups are not the same as a 12-step meeting or group therapy. They are support groups facilitated by a professional, that provide a place to share about the challenges of recovery and discuss issues we encounter in life. These groups are offered virtually and in person several times a week.
Please take the time to read through the other tabs on our website under “Alumni Programming” to learn more about the specific options to stay involved. There is no cost associated with either of the aforementioned programs. In order to get involved please contact the Continuing Care/Alumni Coordinator Rylan Shaughnessy here or 470-606-2071.
